Does patriarchy exist?
How would you define patriarchy?
organisation of society around strict definitions of gender, gender rolls, and acceptable behaviour thereof and interactions between such.
How has patriarchy hurt you?
affecting my perception of what I can be, and what I should want to be. Creation of a world where breaking peoples’ expectations incites adverse, sometimes violent reactions from them.
How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?
When I was younger, insulting people based on their sexuality, perceived masculinity or lack thereof (same thing, I guess), general behaviour prescriptivism in a million subtle ways. Now… who knows. Probably still latent prescriptivism on behaviour. And still any number of times I’ve failed to speak out against others doing this loudly.
How would you define masculinity?
A waste of time ideal that benefits basically no-one.
Does misandry exist?
Have you experienced gender and/or sex related prejudice?
What best describes you?
