Does patriarchy exist?
How would you define patriarchy?
The current status quo that men are in power, including such things as innate bias toward men in things such as job opportunities and the gender wage gap.
How has patriarchy hurt you?
Expectations of exaggerated masculinity among men. The patriarchy also discourages speaking out against it, such as calling out sexist jokes in all-male groups.
How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?
My unconscious biases have led me to interrupt and speak over women, as well as “mansplaining”.
How would you define masculinity?
Machoism, dominance, emphasis on stereotypically “manly” things such as enjoyment of sports, hunting, pride, and thinking of women as sexual objects
Does misandry exist?
Misandry exists but it is rare, whereas its counterpart misogyny is built into the system of patriarchy
Have you experienced gender and/or sex related prejudice?
Only in a way that has advantaged me
