Does patriarchy exist?
How would you define patriarchy?
The preferential treatment of males in society/ the non-preferential treatment of females.
How has patriarchy hurt you?
Huh? I’m male and could really only benefit.
How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?
In the past, I’ve probably bought into the ‘male superiority’ lie perpetrated by patriarchy. Mainly because I can beat most women in an arm wrestling competition. I now appreciate that this as a metric for male superiority, is flawed.
How would you define masculinity?
As those traits defined by society is being predominantly male: aggression, competitiveness, excess bravado & other jock-like behaviours.
