Does patriarchy exist?
How would you define patriarchy?
It is a world in which the social structure is defined, controlled and manipulated by men (mostly white). Men create the moral and power framework in which the rest of the world has to fit. It is our world basically.
How has patriarchy hurt you?
I’m a white, middle class man born in the UK, in a London commuter village if it has hurt me or men like me it is only in a perceived underdog way. In that I can chose to believe I am an underdog in only a manner in which any true sense of the word is fucked up beyond all recognition.
How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?
I don’t know to be honest. I guess I do not actively seek to change the system so I guess I hurt those that are hurt by it in my complicity and ambivalence.
How would you define masculinity?
Fuck. No idea. I guess to be a man is to have the unflinching self belief that however you define masculinity within yourself is the correct way. The fact that I don’t have a better definition than that gives you an idea of how much weight I give to definitions of masculinity.
Does misandry exist?
Yes it exists but not in a real sense
Have you experienced gender and/or sex related prejudice?
