Does patriarchy exist?
How would you define patriarchy?
A historically-dominant structure of gendered social and cultural expectations, prescribing distinct, hierarchical and constraining roles for men and women.
How has patriarchy hurt you?
It stands between me and the potential for a more fulfilling egalitarian society.
How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?
I have not wilfully hurt anyone, but I occupy a position of privilege which means I don’t know who might have been disadvantaged merely by the ease in which I inhabit the opportunities it provides.
How would you define masculinity?
The set of beliefs defining how men ought to understand themselves, and behave.
Does misandry exist?
Of course one can have ‘misandrist’ sentiments, as one can have misogynist ones. It doesn’t make it a conspiracy!
