Does patriarchy exist?

Yes

How would you define patriarchy?

A classist system based on gender roles, requiring the males in any male-female mix to be the higher classes

How has patriarchy hurt you?

Patriarchy limits options by requiring decisions be made in certain ways, in certain circumstances. This hurts both the male and female members of society

How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?

This assumes guilt, which is very flattering. Thank you for knee-jerking. However, being part of society that is dominated by patriarchy, and not having, in every moment of my life, acted consciously and with full empathy for everyone around me, it is reasonable to assume that I have acted to perpetuate the patriarchal standard. This limits options for myself and others, as noted in #3.

How would you define masculinity?

I wouldn’t. Seriously. I’ve never really known what “masculinity” and “femininity” were, in specific terms. I have known many males who express as stereotypically female and the obverse of that. Most people I’ve met are somewhere in between, on a spectrum. A very few folk I’ve known have not fallen into either end of the spectrum.

Does misandry exist?

Yes

In any classist system there is hatred running both directions, as well as self-hatred (frequently expressed as class guilt) for being part of a system that the individual is aware is unfair.

Have you experienced gender and/or sex related prejudice?

Yes

To suggest that prejudice only expresses from the top of a hierarchy downward is disingenuous at best. Any unfair system breeds unreasoning and cruel behavior in all directions, including laterally.

What best describes you?

An equalist

I am strongly for the goals of feminism … and masculinism … what I am opposed to is the inherent polarity of the terms. The NAME of feminism assumes things that are not part of the tenets of feminism.
