Does patriarchy exist?
How would you define patriarchy?
An established male-dominated structure of power in society. It reinforces biases that favour men at the top of the structure.
How has patriarchy hurt you?
I don’t feel it has hurt me that much as an individual but I feel like it hurts the society I am part of.
How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?
Not deliberately but I suppose to an extent most of us have been complicit in reinforcing patriarchy at some point in our lives even if we didn’t mean to. Like many institutionalised biases it’s easy to slip into accepting the frame of patriarchy at times even if we disagree with it.
How would you define masculinity?
Traits and behaviours associated with a stereotypical man I suppose. Strong silent type. All that crap.
Does misandry exist?
I don’t feel it myself but it could be something others feel.
Have you experienced gender and/or sex related prejudice?
What best describes you?
