Does patriarchy exist?
How would you define patriarchy?
The need for men to control everything around them.
How has patriarchy hurt you?
The patriarchy has defined my role in life as a gay man, attempting to control my appearance, behaviour and libido.
How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?
Yes. As a white man, albeit a gay one, I have used the power that the patriarchy has handed me to benefit myself quite often, usually without even realising it.
How would you define masculinity?
As a part of the spectrum of humanity, sexuality and gender.
Does misandry exist?
It’s women attacking women that’s more of a problem, but some women will attack feminist men on the basis that they are men. I just find this unhelpful.
Have you experienced gender and/or sex related prejudice?
I have failed to get jobs in the past where the (male) interviewer has appointed a less qualified but younger and bustier woman rather than me.
What best describes you?
