Does patriarchy exist?
How would you define patriarchy?
The fact that power is mostly exercised by men in their favour and often against women and sexual minorities.
How has patriarchy hurt you?
The world is set up to make heterosexual’s men’s lives as easy as possible often at the expense of women and sexual minorities. I am gay so that’s hurt me.
How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?
I have used informal networks of male power to benefit myself at work and socially.
How would you define masculinity?
It’s a very complicated thing. I think there can be bad and good masculinity. Good masculinity incorporates a very broad vision of what it is to be a man and celebrates the many different permutations as equally male.
