Does patriarchy exist?
How would you define patriarchy?
The preference, and perceived preference, of men over women.
How has patriarchy hurt you?
A female friend of mine told my 3 year old daughter that ‘Spiderman is for boys’ and my daughter believed her. That an interest and potential role model could be taken from my daughter in such a callous way hurt me, though not as much as it may my daughter. Thankfully, it has given us both a greater appreciation of Spidergirl.
How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?
I have not, to my knowledge.
How would you define masculinity?
The taking of power, for right or for wrong.
Does misandry exist?
Have you experienced gender and/or sex related prejudice?
Only in a way that has advantaged me
If it was to my advantage it was unknowingly.
What best describes you?
