Does patriarchy exist?
How would you define patriarchy?
A broad-ranging structural bias rewarding men and masculine people in terms of status and money, present generally across society with some exceptions
How has patriarchy hurt you?
Homophobia, derived from patriarchy, preventing me from realising I was bi.
How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?
I can’t think of any specific examples but it’s not impossible something happened.
How would you define masculinity?
Does misandry exist?
Not in the classic “MRA” definition, but iirc certain outcome measures like life expectancy, suicide death rate, non-consensual circumision at birth, homelessness rates etc are significantly higher generally than womens, and I wouldn’t call the source of it “misandry” because that debate well has been poisoned and it’s an unhelpful term, but something’s causing them and it doesn’t seem helpful to say that’s all the patriarchy either.
Have you experienced gender and/or sex related prejudice?
What best describes you?
An ally to feminism
