Does patriarchy exist?
How would you define patriarchy?
The automatic assumption that men are in charge/know best in almost any sphere/walk of life.
How has patriarchy hurt you?
It’s only hurt me in a sense that it’s difficult to see women, especially those I care about, oppressed or held back by it.
How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?
I’m sure the privileges that come with being white & in my early 30s have adversely affected others.
How would you define masculinity?
As a social construct, mostly. There are definable differences between men & women which are broadly applicable & shape an individual’s outlook, but generally speaking people are people. Stereotypically masculine or feminine traits are fluid & they change over time. There is no bar against which masculinity is measured; it’s completely subjective.
Does misandry exist?
Yes, but not comparable to misogyny in either prevalence or damage caused.
Have you experienced gender and/or sex related prejudice?
I have been belittled by misandristic women, but it’s pretty rare.
What best describes you?
