Does patriarchy exist?

Yes

How would you define patriarchy?

An inbuilt, but unconscious bias towards offering opportunities to men over women, and “the right sort” of men (depending on group) at that. It is often a “passive” bias rather than a “active” one

How has patriarchy hurt you?

The “birds of a feather” effect of any group, of which the “patriarchy” is one, did get me shafted in my education. Having earned a higher place at school, the headmaster finalged it, telling my parents that I wanted to stay at a lower level. Funnily enough my place went to the nephew of a Governor. This wasn’t a gender bias but a group bias of which ‘the patriarchy’ is one form

How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?

I have let unconscious cultural bias affect my judgement at times, often to do with capabilities, leading me to be a grade “A” arsehole at times that didn’t call for it. To note, some folk do, rarely, deserve you being an arse to them, but on deserved merit and even then it’s bad karma for you, so best avoided even thrn

Be excellent to one another.

Does misandry exist?

Yes

people hate for all sorts of reasons. Including gender based. doesn’t mean it’s widespread or institutional, but some folk will.be biased against men

Have you experienced gender and/or sex related prejudice?

Yes

I was broke & unemployed. Applied for a low paid job because any job would have been welcome. Bloke offering job sneered “it’s not much money for a *man*”
