Does patriarchy exist?
How would you define patriarchy?
A ubiquitous societal bias towards male privilege and female subjugation.
How has patriarchy hurt you?
Effectively: very little. Philosophically: considerably.
How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?
I tend to err on the side of cynical humor and do not shy away from delving into subjects related to skewed male/female power dynamics that can be insensitive to people suffering as a direct result of patriarchy.
How would you define masculinity?
A reliance on physical power/presence and seeking to attain and maintain status by ways of dominance over others as well as potential deficits in “theory of mind” prowess and as a result collaborative capacity.
Does misandry exist?
I don’t know what misandry is!
Of course I had to look up its definition. Now my answer is yes. I reckon there is hatred of just about anything under the sun, “mankind” included.
Have you experienced gender and/or sex related prejudice?
If I hadn’t, I’d not be so certain about patriarchy existing. So chalk one up for prejudice leading to advantage and privilege. But since I believe patriarchy hurts everybody, I couldn’t say “Only in a way that has advantaged me”.
