Does patriarchy exist?
How would you define patriarchy?
Knowledge and power for decision making in society granted to men in preference to women, and attitudes that are advantageous to men prevail in society
How has patriarchy hurt you?
Expectation of a ‘strong’ (lack of) emotional stance that denies sensitivity and weakness. Means feelings of shame about being sensitive
How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?
I know that when younger I have taken advantage of women due to their vulnerability. Also have used male status to talk louder than women in work situations
How would you define masculinity?
The social expression of being within the male gender.
Does misandry exist?
As a reaction, it wouldn’t exist without its ipposite
Have you experienced gender and/or sex related prejudice?
Even liberal women have an expectation of a strong well built man, and can’t escape social pressure
