Does patriarchy exist?
How would you define patriarchy?
A system of privilege which places men in a traditionally powerful role.
How has patriarchy hurt you?
As a rape victim, I have been turned away from many services, and been told that my being raped is impossible, or something I should be ashamed of, because I am a man.
How have you hurt people in a way influenced by patriachy?
I am very vocal, whether it’s in societies, political groups or seminars. Oftentimes, I find that the conversation for a large group of people is being dominated by a few, usually all of them men, including myself.
How would you define masculinity?
Being strong, emotionless and uncaring. Also, having short hair.
Does misandry exist?
If we truly want to achieve equality, we need to look at every side of inequality. It is all too easy to lose track of abuse which can affect the most privileged group purely because of their status as such.
